solidariTEA was born from the idea:
HOW CAN WE, IN OUR CURRENT, LIMITED, FINANCIAL STATES, SUPPORT THE CHANGE-MAKERS IN OUR COMMUNITIES IN A REAL WAY?
In addition to community organizing and being present and active as neighbors, how can we help free them to do the work that they know best how to do, to make our communities more resilient, sustainable, equitable, and just?
What if we could allow the groups we’ve organized with, groups we admire and respect, to shift some of their time and focus away from constant fundraising, from corporate grants, to the real soul of their work? How could we take the model of a business, of our current capitalist system, and make it work for our communities? We are doing our best to accomplish just that.

SOLIDARITY:
We define “solidarity” as working in partnership with community, because our collective liberation and happiness is bound up in our shared struggles.
Practicing solidarity is strategic – a way to leverage the skills, privileges, experiences and history you carry; to align your struggle, or frontline, with the struggles/frontlines of those who are different from you, and together work to build something new, as equals.
Practicing solidarity means moving beyond the traditional, paternalistic notion of “helping” those with less resources, and means practicing strategy: how to best use whatever is brought to the table, and win against oppressive powers, together.
